Beautification

“…beauty is a silent but powerful force that makes communities safer, healthier and more livable.”

Keep America Beautiful

Thank you Silver Creek Students for all your hard work at the December 10th PTSA Campus Beautification Day!

Thanks to the dedicated 105+ students who woke up early on Sunday December 10th to make the Silver Creek High School campus more beautiful!  Students volunteered from 7am-1pm providing close to 500 community service hours!

We cleaned & weeded the staff parking lot, the administration parking lot, the student parking lot, the x-quad, the u-quad, the bus loop and stadium!  We also mulched the rose garden and planted rosemary, thyme and dymondia areas around the Attendance office. The NJROTC also removed a stump in the U-Quad so now there it is ready for a new tree.

We also collected all the trash that we could find campus wide.

Thank you to students from AVID, NJROTC, California Scholarship Federation, AP US History, Red Cross, Mr. Taylor's class, Green Society, American Cancer Society, Japanese National Honor Society, Interact, Dance, Key Club, PE, AP Environmental Science, National Honor Society, Marine Biology, Gardening Club, Leadership, Care Club, and US History.

Special thanks to Raj Gandhasri and his family for organizing all the planting, mulching and watering!

Special thanks to Ms. Huong Tran for donating 30 pizzas for all the volunteers!

Join us for the next Beautification Day!  It's fun!!

Thanks Silver Creek Beautifiers!

Thank you to all the amazing Silver Creek Students and parents who have participated in our PTSA Silver Creek High School Beautification events.  We are looking forward to our 2017-18 projects!

Our Mission

To improve the physical beauty of the Silver Creek High School campus to reflect the academic success of its students and show the students how much we value them in this community.

Our Strategy

To coordinate:

  • Planting flowers and decorative landscaping on the Silver Creek High School campus.
  • Minor clean up and repair of the Silver Creek High School facilities.

To involve all members of the Silver Creek High School Community: students, alumni, teachers, parents, staff, siblings, caring neighbors and businesses. To reach out to Middle School students who want or need to perform community service hours.

Our goal is to sponsor 4-6 small projects starting in August ending in April.  Depending upon the amount of work to be done, they may be Saturday, Sunday or both days for about 4 hours.

2017-18 Beautification Days

We are still planning our projects for this year.

The tentative dates are:

  • September TBA
  • October 29th
  • December 10th
  • January 21st
  • May 6th

As they are scheduled, we will post the events on School loop with a sign up sheet. Generally, we have Beautification Events from 8am-12pm on either Saturday or Sunday.  Extra community service hours are usually available from 7am-8am for set up and 12pm-1pm for clean up.  If you or your club or class would like to request a date for a Beautification or a project please let me know by emailing Susan Williams, Staff on School loop.
