An update from CSU regarding applications

If you have any questions, please see your counselor.

We are happy to report that the issue with Planned and In Progress college coursework not calculating in the a-g units has been resolved.  All applicants should submit their applications without delay.

Below are a couple of reminders regarding the application process. As a reminder, please review the resources listed below.

College Coursework Entry - If a high school student has completed a College course that will appear on a College Transcript, the course must be reported on the Colleges Attended and Transcript entry screen.  The course must be matched to an A-G category on the A-G Matching screen.  If the course(s) show on both the High School and College transcript the coursework should not be entered twice and should only be entered on the College Transcript Entry.  This will ensure that the CSU campus will request the College transcript, and that the High School GPA calculation will include the appropriate bump.

  • College courses entered as In Progress/Planned College are now being counted appropriately in the A-G totals.
  • Applicants should review the A-G subject totals, and may now submit their application.

Primary College - For students with college coursework they will be asked for their "Primary College" during the Finalize My Transcript process. If they have attended more than one college they can select the college where they have completed the most units.

Transcripts - If a campus needs a transcript to determine a student's eligibility the campus will request the transcript directly from the student.  Once an applicant submits their application they should check their e-mail regularly for communications from the campus(es) they applied.

Please print the Freshman Coursework Guide and keep it handy.  Most questions that are not answered in the CSU Admissions Handbook, are answered in the guide.

The Applicant Help Center is available in three different places on the application, or you may bookmark it at https://help.liaisonedu.com/Cal_State_Apply_Applicant_Help_Center.  You do not need to be logged in to the application to review the Help Center

The Applicant Support phone number is 857-304-2087.  As a reminder, the phone number is available in the footer of every page of the application.
