Beautification Update
SCHS PTSA sponsored First Campus Beautification event was a HUGE success. The event took place on Sunday September 9th.

  • Close to 70 students and 4 parent volunteers participated. Total volunteer hours spent - close to 300 hours.
  • Event started at 8 am and ended at 1 pm.
  • Areas around U, J, X quads were cleared of weeds.
  • Lantanas and roses were planted in some sections of U quad and by the library.
  • SCHS students worked well in teams and completed all tasks assigned to them. It was so wonderful to see them work hard and have fun while helping make our campus better.
  • Special thanks to parent volunteers Mrs Sarika Takur, Mr Carter French, Mrs Thao Ngyuyen who were present from the beginning to the very end of the event. They guided different groups of students with set up, weeding , planting and cleanup.
  • Thank you to the families that donated water and snacks for this event.
  • A HUGE thanks to Payless Nursery on Capitol and Aborn that sold plants and garden soil at 20% discount. We were able to plant roses and Lantanas around the U quad and near the library.
  • Lastly, a big thank you to James Arreola, our custodian who was present to open up the gates for us in the early morning so we could get started. And we appreciate the help from Mrs Geeta Tubati and Mrs Linda Ha in wrapping up the event.
Our next PTSA campus beautification event will be on Sunday October 7th, 2018
