ATTENTION STAFF OF SCHS!
LSU would love to announce a contest we are holding this school year for dia de los muertos!
What is dia de los muertos? Día de los muertos is a latin american tradition in which our family members and loved ones who have passed away are remembered. We would love to bring this cultural tradition to SCHS community!
We are looking for contestants that are willing to put an ofrenda in their classroom, and have it on display on the day of our dia de los muertos event. The community will vote for the most creative ofrenda.
Ofrendas are an essential part of Day of the Dead celebration.
The ofrenda is set on a table. Ofrendas must include pictures of loved ones who've passed away, items they were fond of, something they liked to snack on(for example candies, chips), candles(for safety precaution please do not light them on), flowers, and gifts(toys for the kids).
You may search up ''Day of the Dead ofrendas'' on google images to get an idea of how an ofrenda looks like.
