Important Information

Updated 05.10.18

There will be graduation practice on Tuesday, May 22 at 10:30 am for about an hour starting at the baseball field. A mandatory full run-through of the graduation commencement exercises will happen on Thursday, May 24 from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm starting at the baseball field. Bring water and a hat! Seniors must be at Thursday's practice in order to walk the stage. There are several things to consider in order for graduation to run smoothly.

All graduates must report to the baseball field no later than 5:15 pm on Thursday, May 24 to prepare for the march to the stadium. If graduates are late, they might not be able to cross the stage. The graduation commencement exercises begin at 6:00 pm.

Dress Code

Graduates must dress appropriately. The school dress code applies to what graduates wear underneath their gowns.

No decorations are allowed on graduate caps. Since it is often windy at graduation, consider using lots of bobby pins to secure caps. For those with little or no hair, double-stick tape seems to do the trick!

Spiked, pointed, or pencil heels will sink into the field and are also not allowed. Graduates, please be sure to iron your graduation gown with a cool iron before the commencement.

Tassel Sales

In case of lost tassels, extra tassels will be sold for $15. Someone will be at the entry to the baseball field with tassels available for purchase the evening of graduation.

Parking and Seating

[Campus Map | Graduation Map]

Map of Graduation Setup: Silver Creek High School StadiumParking and seating are limited so please plan to arrive early.

The staff and student lots are available for parking, with handicap parking in the student lot. Handicap seating is available on the track. Handicap parking will be available in the student parking lot if you need it; vehicles must have and display a current disabled parking placard. Parking is limited, so please arrive early.

Handicap seating will be available on the track. You enter from the student parking lot through the gates to the far left; do not go up the long ramp. You will find handicap seating in front of the bleachers on the track. We ask that you limit the number of people in your party who may sit there (i.e. the person who requires accommodations and one or two assistants). We are unable to reserve seats, so please arrive early.

Watching the Event

Parents, family members, loved ones, and spectators, please stay off the football field for the duration of the graduation commencement exercises. Meet graduates on the practice field outside the stadium at the end of the fencing.

Graduate Gifts and Cheering

Please do not bring balloons into Silver Creek Stadium as they block everyone's view. We all appreciate it if you give balloons, flowers, and other gifts to the graduates on the practice field after graduation is over.

As you hear a name read, feel free to cheer! Leave the air horns at home, however, because each name is read quickly and air horns drown out the next name to be read.

As the graduation commencement exercises come to a close, do not block the exits, jump over barriers, or tear down fencing. Allow the graduates to leave the stadium and meet them on the practice field for photos, tears, and smiles!

Diplomas, Fines, and Transcripts

Diplomas will be available for pick-up on Wednesday, May 30, from 9:00am to 2:00pm in front of the Parent Center. Please bring your ID. Be sure to bring a picture ID. Please do not have friends or family members pick up a student's diploma. Only students may pick up diplomas.

In order to pick up your diploma, all debts to Silver Creek High School must be cleared. Students who have missing books or outstanding fees, even books and fees from previous years, will not be able to pick up their diplomas until all books are returned and/or fees are cleared.

The senior fine list will be posted outside the library and outside the front office, with Monday, May 21 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm set aside as time for all seniors to clear those fines. Visit the school bank for amounts owed and the bookroom and library to be sure there are no missing books in your name.

Graduates who are going to college next year need to be have final transcripts sent to the college. We use Parchment for transcript services. We're offering this service to make ordering transcripts easier for you. It's also more efficient for your school and will deliver your transcripts to the colleges you choose in the format they prefer. Create an account to request your official transcript.

If you want to scratch something off your graduation To Do list right now, you can order your official transcript through Parchment today and place it on hold until grades are posted. This is a great feature that Parchment provides so that you don't have so many things to do after you cross the stage.

Order Credentials from Parchment

Please contact the Silver Creek registrar if you have any questions:

We have contracted GradImages to professionally photograph all graduates this year. Please look at the camera and smile when you cross the stage! Complete the pre-event registration for a discount on your order. If you'd rather order after graduation, visit GradImages to search for your photos or call 1 (800) 261-2576 to speak with someone. Please note that you are under no obligation to purchase photos.

All attendees are welcome to take pictures, but only graduates, staff, and other participants will be allowed on the football field before, during, and after the graduation commencement exercises.

If you do take pictures, please use #schsgrad18 to tag your photos and share your memories of the evening. We look forward to seeing how all Raiders honor this spectacular event!
